Mullahs vs. Anglosphere

Rand Simberg sums it up nicely: They know what they're up against, but they don't understand its implications. This is definitely a case of being proud of who our enemies are.

I think the mullahs are highly rational. If they moderate and democratize, or even are passive, they will eventually lose power. If they are bellicose they have a chance to bluff their enemies to a stalemate. And if they develop nukes they have an even better chance to increase and entrench their power domestically and externally. It is predictable that they will continue to stir up trouble and hope that we lose our nerve. The main question is therefore not about them, it's about what we will do in response.
